should the sexes compete together?

Should competition just be unisex? What happens when men don't hold back?

Men and women competing together: this is already happening because we've got trans women competing with cis women. This goes back to the morality question I've discussed on numerous occasions. Is it morally permissible for a chromosomal man to hit a woman in the face so hard that he cracks the bones in her face? In any context other than MMA, this would be assault and battery, and people would be horrified, not cheering. So I think this is a serious moral question.

It's also a separate question from whether adults should undergo trans procedures (surgery, hormone therapy, etc.). I've already expressed my views on that matter, so I'll simply repeat that I don't think trans people are insane if they have a bone-deep feeling that they don't belong in their current bodies.

Again, though, this is a separate question from, say, drag-queen story hour and the exposure of impressionable youngsters to sexual material. But a lot of this tangle begins with the question of whether men and women are physically equal. If the sexes are taken as a whole, then the obvious answer is they aren't. On an individual basis, though, the question is less clear. Could Gina Carano kick my flabby ass? Undoubtedly. Could she kick the ass of someone her age, who has equivalent training? Not a chance. And that's life.
