If the "save my honor" minimum for unique visits to the blog is 20K, then by that standard, June was a stellar month. I ended up with over 55K views (55,130), or 1,837 views per day. Yeah, yeah—divide that in half to account for bots, I know. But that's still pretty good for me and my small-fry blog. Yesterday, July 1, was almost 2K, but today, we've gone back to being flaccid, and I'm currently a little above 150 visits at a little past 6:30 p.m. It's funny how, when you're riding a wave, you start to expect a certain number of views. Days like today, though, are a humbling reminded that this blog ain't all that, so I shouldn't get greedy. We'll see what the rest of July brings.

READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING!
All comments are subject to approval before they are published, so they will not appear immediately. Comments should be civil, relevant, and substantive. Anonymous comments are not allowed and will be unceremoniously deleted. For more on my comments policy, please see this entry on my other blog.
AND A NEW RULE (per this post): comments critical of Trump's lying must include criticism of Biden's lying on a one-for-one basis! Failure to be balanced means your comment will not be published.

I know you are not on most social media, but do you ever link to your blog on other forums, like the comments at Instapundit? This is a great place to visit with a kaleidoscope of content to enjoy daily, but how do strangers find you? If I recall, I discovered your Hairy Chasms from another blog (Marmot's Hole?) fifteen years ago or so. Still enjoying the ride!
ReplyDeleteI'm on some sort of blacklist at Instapundit, so I can't leave links or pictures in the comments without having my comment automatically trashed ("placed in moderation," but effectively trashed). I occasionally leave my blog's URL, using [dot] instead of a period when I write the URL. It doesn't seem to generate any extra traffic when I do that. When I was experimenting with Reddit, I left links to my book, but never to my blog, mainly because most people on Reddit are left-liberal whackos.
