the riots have spread from France to Belgium and Switzerland

Tweets I just saw:

I had to screenshot these tweets because when I clicked over to Twitter to get the code to embed the tweets here, I got a "Something went wrong. Try reloading." message. This likely means the tweets are being repressed despite Elon Musk's efforts to make sure this doesn't happen. That, or Musk's Twitter no longer allows people outside of Twitter to view tweets. Musk has already clamped down on non-members' using of Twitter's search function to find tweets. Maybe this is the next logical step in turning Twitter into an even more hermetic bubble?* Or is it just that I'm based in South Korea?

I'm hoping that the Swiss, at least, will be swift and decisive in putting down the riots. People who riot are outing themselves, making themselves into easy targets for anyone with a repeating tranquilizer gun to fell them, collect them, and throw them into prison. Of course, my inner totalitarian wouldn't mind dragging all these tranq'ed folks into back alleys and putting bullets in their brain (less money spent on prisons), so it's probably a good thing that I'm not the one in charge. If it were me, there'd be piles of bodies to dispose of, and I'd be known in whispers as Kevin of the Pyre.

*Another possibility is something I just saw through a bit of research: sites like Twitter may be clamping down on "data scraping," which normally involves "pulling information out of a website and into a spreadsheet." Or as another site puts it: "a technique in which a computer program extracts data from output generated from another program." I get the impression that Twitter is doing what it can to stanch the influx of bots, but people like me are ending up as collateral damage. Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass, and this is a completely different problem having nothing to do with Musk or data scraping.
