A Saturday evening meal:
Pesto shrimp, pepperoni medallions, slices of white cheddar, and a salad of cucumber, carrot, and raisins in a light glaze of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and sugar. Oh, and we can't forget the garlic bread (butter, garlic powder, and basil on baguette slices).
The above photo marks my first attempt at using my new-old camera's macro function. The picture turned out too red and didn't seem all that exciting, so I did a red reduction and increased the contrast. Apologies if your eyes hurt.

Is it an invisible photo?
ReplyDeleteImpressive. Perhaps most impressive is your ability to cook for one. When I lived by myself, I had a very hard time motivating myself to prepare dinner for just me. Even now, with HJ coming home late every evening, I usually just scrape together something rather than do real cooking.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, though, I decided to cook for the entire family. Here's what you didn't eat: eggplant lasagna with a vegetable/tomato sauce topped with provolone and mozzarella. All of the vegetables were harvested fresh, of course, and the lasagna noodles were made fresh from some semolina flour I picked up at Shinsegae (boy does that make a difference), a fresh egg straight out of the hen, chopped fresh basil from our new basil plants, and fresh olive oil I squeezed in my new olive oil press. (OK, fine, so we bought the olive oil. Everything else was fresh, though.)
And yes, I took pictures:

If you look closely at the noodles in the center you can see the chopped basil.
Kangmi,
ReplyDeleteI'm not having trouble seeing the photo from my end (my Mac at home). I'll check again when I'm at the office and on a different computer.
Charles,
Scrumptious.
Kevin
Kangmi,
ReplyDeleteI checked again from the office and everything seems OK-- the pic is visible from here.
I wonder what's going on.
Kevin
It's there now.
