the two Kevins

In my previous post, I mentioned my old, 2005 self and compared it to my current, 2013 self. Well, here's a picture illustrating the contrast:

The picture on the left comes from when I was living in Seoul and teaching at Sookmyung Women's University from 2005 to 2008. The photo was from early in my Sookmyung career, when I was walking up nearby Namsan (South Mountain, central Seoul) fairly regularly as a way to stay in shape. The picture on the right was taken today, April 9, 2013, near the Caldwell Building on Catholic University's campus. The old Kevin seems to be buried, somewhere, under the flesh of the new Kevin. Perhaps he'll come out at some point (then, knowing my luck, he'll see his shadow and flee back inside).

  1. Somewhere in there, there's a Little Hominid ready to be unleashed upon the tremulous, quivering world.

  2. Perhaps we should call it The Homunculus.
