Middleweight boxing champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler has died. He was only 66. While I never followed Hagler's career that closely, I did watch his brutal 1987 fight with Sugar Ray Leonard—a fight that ended in a decision favoring Leonard, who had gained fifteen pounds of muscle just to fight in Hagler's own weight class. Hagler had skill, strength, speed, and style, but his endurance was what I found most impressive; he was a real-life Rocky Balboa in that regard. It's sad to know that Hagler died while so comparatively young, but there's no doubt the man lived a full life. Much respect. RIP.
