Biden had a senior moment a couple days ago, during which he read some stage directions straight off the teleprompter, saying, "End of quote. Repeat the line." Trivia: Clark Gable was reading a stage direction, too, when he said, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." The original line in Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind merely said, "My dear, I don't give a damn." The word frankly was a stage direction instructing Gable to say the line in a frank manner. The misreading worked for Gable, but Biden's gaffe was a hell of a lot clumsier and yet another sign of dementia.
Styx also has thoughts on Elon Musk's attempt to walk away from the deal with Twitter. Amusingly, Styx notes that Twitter is in a bind. It had initially rejected the idea of Musk's buying the company out, but now, Twitter is willing to sue Musk in order to have Musk honor the deal. Why? At least in part, this is because Twitter's stock value is plummeting as news of Twitter's untrustworthiness spreads. So Twitter finds itself, as Styx likes to say, "between a cock and a hard place." Obviously, Twitter is desperate because, in the end, it's all about the money. Styx thinks Musk will renegotiate to buy Twitter at a lower price.
