trying to have a day

What a week. I guess, with the new demands being placed upon me, it's important to treasure whatever free time I get. The CEO asked me to show up at his seminar today, then later took back that request, partly thanks to intervention from my boss, who diplomatically noted that, if we were to work at night (as we did last night—I was at the office until 4 a.m. this morning), we'd be too tired to do anything on Saturday.

So I'm devoting today to making pasta, building a long-promised lasagna, and bakin' that thang. I'll share it with my boss on Monday since it's now just him and me in the office. The office itself is pretty empty: two coworkers are gone, and I boxed up and moved most of my shit back to my apartment. This means I no longer have any food-related items at the office—no plates, no bowls, no utensils for serving and eating, nothing. Any meals I prep, from now until who-knows-when, will mean making everything at home, containerizing it, taxiing it over to the office, then relying on the office's kitchenette for our dining needs.

But that is neither here nor there. Right now, the immediate priority is to putter around my place—taking out trash, cleaning my floor, sending some walk-blog photos to a commenter, making pasta, and building a lasagna. Oh, and having myself a decent weekend before my personal hell crunches into gear again on Monday.
