Oxford Union speech on "Has Wokeness Gone Too Far?"

Awesome speech by comedian Konstantin Kisin making the rounds:

Wikipedia says this about Kisin:

Konstantin Kisin (Russian: Константин Кисин; born 25 December 1982) is a Russian-British satirist, podcaster, author and political commentator. Kisin has written for a number of publications including Quillette, The Spectator, The Daily Telegraph and Standpoint on issues relating to tech censorship, woke culture, comedy and "culture war" topics in the past but currently publishes articles on these subjects on his Substack. He has co-hosted Triggernometry since 2018, a YouTube channel and podcast featuring fellow comedian and co-host Francis Foster.[2]

Kisin was born and grew up in Moscow in the former Soviet Union. He came from a family of Jewish heritage.[3] His experiences in the country inform much of his own political views today.[4]

I'll be watching out for Kisin and Triggernometry. I especially like his point about how wokeness is essentially a form of racism. Not so sure I like his sympathetic, from-the-inside portrait of Xi Jinping, although I get his larger point.

This is the thing the left needs to understand about many immigrants: they flee to the West, especially to America, because they've seen and endured shit they no longer wanted to experience. Then they come to America and see the same shit happening there. What's it like to be a Cuban immigrant and to hear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Bernie Sanders brazenly advocating for socialism? A fucking nightmare, is what. If the left really appreciated immigrants (and it doesn't), it would listen to and take seriously the stories coming from all the immigrants who had to flee their particular hells—hells that always have one element in common: leftism itself. Granted—not all immigrants get this. Some immigrants don't understand the idea that they might be bringing with them the very mind-virus they're trying to flee. Among Latinos, Cubans are a special and treasured exception, but it's also true that many non-Cuban Latinos lean right because they appreciate their situation. Also, the immigrants leaving their hells are not just Latinos—they come from all over. And the left ignores them and their stories, too.

The woke crowd is deaf and blind to common sense like this. Not to mention dumb.
