Go back to the entry about Héloïse, my almost-goddaughter.* She sent me a copy of the poem she'd recited in her video, and I've slapped up the original French along with my unlicensed, unofficial, unprofessional translation.
*Years ago, Dominique had toyed with the idea of having me be Héloïse's goddaughter, but in the end, he concluded it wouldn't be right because I live too far away and can't be part of her life the way a proper godfather should. I always feel a twinge of sadness about that, but we have to live with the consequences of our choices, and my choices have led me far, far from France, so Dom was right to decide as he did.
