Arnold Schwarzenegger in a TV series
I initially thought this was a Netflix-exclusive action movie, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently starring in a Netflix action-comedy TV series called "FUBAR" (definitely an 80s-throwback title for an Arnold actioner). He costars with the lovely Monica Barbaro; the two play father and daughter—both CIA agents without knowing the other is also an agent. (Dad finds out in Episode 1, so the rest of the series deals with how they reevaluate their relationship.) I'm thinking about watching this series, which is only in its first season, but if I do, it'll be less for Schwarzenegger and more for Barbaro, whom you may remember as Phoenix in "Top Gun: Maverick." I'm only a man, after all, and Barbaro's a looker. Alas, I see that reviews for the show vary from lukewarm to bad, so I might watch at most an episode or two at first, and if the show doesn't grab me, I'll let it go.

Does a celebrity's politics affect your enjoyment of their work? Every time I see Schwarzenegger now, I'm reminded of his "fuck your freedom" comment during the COVID scamdemic.
ReplyDeleteArnold supposedly expressed regret for having said that, but the damage had been done. Sometimes, I can separate the artist from the art, but sometimes, it's hard to do.
