I'm not a believer when I see augmented-reality nonsense like this. If you can shrink the tech down to contact lenses and earbuds, then maybe yes, I'd be interested. Until then, it's just another bulky and lame headset. And at $3500, with a measly two hours of battery life, it's definitely not worth my while. I'm an Apple user, but I agree with the people who think Apple products are generally overpriced. Wake me when Version 10.0 can be slapped right onto my eyeballs. Of course, I'll probably be too old to use the set by then.

Also keep in mind that it's going to be a while before you can actually do anything worthwhile with them--that is, before developers decide they can trust the thing and start developing decent apps for it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, IGN has a poll in their community tab on YT asking people if they are going to buy the AVP. There are currently around 112k votes, and the results stand at 3% Definitely, 5% Not sure yet, and 92% No way. Heh.
