36, not 37

A couple people have said/written "Happy 37!" to me.

I think I gave people the wrong impression when I wrote:

Today, we step through the cosmic membrane and into the 37th year of existence.

What I meant was that I'm now 36 and am therefore beginning my 37th year on this earth, just as a one-year-old is celebrating having lived one year and is embarking on a second year of life.

Nope: it's been exactly three times around the zodiac for me, not 3.083333 times!

The confusion is kind of cool, though-- a bit like reliving the whole "When does the millennium actually begin?" controversy.
