the consolation

It's not looking as though I'll make it into the 90-some-kilogram range by the time I finish the Newcastle Diet. At my last weigh-in, I was 103.5 kg, and God only knows where I'll be with this coming weigh-in. But I do take consolation in the fact that I'll be going on a long walk in a couple months, so I ought to lose even more weight during that trip. Maybe not as much as on previous walks, given how much weight I've lost already, but surely, if I'm averaging about 25 km per day during the walk, that's got to result in some weight loss, right?

Still, you've made a lot of progress, and that is something you can hang your hat on.

Slow and steady wins this race! And you're in pole position.
