the exercise continues

Lat/triceps pulldowns, upright rows, and core work were the order of the day this morning. Tonight, after a 70-minute walk, I'll hit the stairs and do twenty floors, then sleep the sleep of the righteous. Tomorrow, Friday, I'll do biceps curls, lateral raises, and chest presses in the morning; in the evening, I'll do my 140-minute walk. Saturday, I'll start the morning off with my SlimFast smoothie (a relief after all that Soylent), have nuts, berries, and beef jerky for lunch, then walk 18K to Bundang in the evening. And that will be the end of Week 9 on the Newcastle Diet, Cthulhu's name be blessed.

Looked at myself on my phone this morning. Still double-chinned and looking old. Morning, when you've just woken up, isn't the best time to see yourself at your most perky and fluffy. Time of day notwithstanding, there's no hiding the over-50 droopiness of how I now look these days. And this diet has left me with an undercurrent of tiredness that comes from constant near-starvation. What's weird is that I don't feel all that hungry, but I know I'm pretty undernourished. I'm hoping that, by soon being able to eat 1800-2000 calories a day on the days I eat, I can regain a bit of vitality. Mind you, I have plenty of energy for my walks and stair work; it's just that, underneath all that, there's this subtext of weariness that comes from nearly ten long weeks on a strict regime. I am, at this point, more than ready to move on to the next phase, but after this week, I still have one more week of the diet to go.

One... more... week. Pray for me.
