replicating the "nose slice" scene from "Chinatown"

In another team-up with SFX wiz and former Mythbuster Adam Savage, the Corridor Crew examines the question of practical versus CG effects, focusing on the memorable scene in "Chinatown" were Jack Nicholson's character gets his nose sliced open. This is a really intriguing episode; Corridor Crew normally puts out interesting videos, but this one is especially entertaining, and the conclusion of the experiment was fascinating:
