the peninsular game

The Lost Nomad points me to this post by Gar of The Basshole. A snippet:

Roh Mu Hyeon will be the most infamous S. Korean leader the country has ever seen. He has wrecked the U.S. alliance, the North appreciates it, and is using the blood card to drive a wedge between the two allies. Once destroyed, they can project their one true national power at taking back what they see as their own, probably with China sitting in reserve. If I were the Chinese government I'd much rather have a cold war ally on my doorstep than an even larger U.S.-backed influence.
