doing much better, thank you


My French brother Dominique has been doing much better since leaving the hospital after his nasty bout of appendicitis. During his hospital stay, Dom endured two surgeries, and there was a brief, bleak period during which he wondered whether he would ever leave the medical facility, but in the end, he got out, albeit around 12 kilos lighter. He had been advised to start off with light walking and light eating every day, but in his latest text message, Dom tells me he's back to gardening and doing handyman work around the house. Everyone is eagerly awaiting May 11, the national day of déconfinement, i.e., the end of the current lockdown.

So that's how things are going in one patch of western France. Above is a pic from this past Easter. Missing from the image is Dominique's eldest daughter, who spent Easter with her boyfriend.
