The downside, though, is that Americans showed themselves very willing to be oppressed during this pandemic. And we've paid the price in terms of a dying economy, kids who have grown up without proper socialization thanks to all the mask-wearing, paranoid neighbors willing to sell each other out, and a host of other problems to add to the problems that have existed since before the pandemic.
