And now, the pictures you've all been waiting for: my feet! Turns out my left foot is perfectly fine, but the reason why my right foot is hurting is that I did indeed get a blister—possibly two. Ready for some nasty closeups? Here we go!
First up: a possible blister at the base of my right big toe. It doesn't hurt when I palpate it, which makes me think it may simply be thick, dead skin that formed around a bit of Leukotape I had fixed there to protect a part of the toe that had become raw and exposed after some clumsy attempts at callus-cutting. Don't mind the chopped-up callus: it was super thick, so I had a go at it with my inverted clippers. The results weren't pretty.
Next—the actual blister on the pad beneath the base of my pinky toe:
A wide shot of both problems:
Finally, a look at my left foot, which seems just fine:
So that's the story of my feet. I'll be taking some ibuprofen to dull the pain of my right foot a bit, but the pain ought to go away on its own in a few days, It occurs to me that, if we think of last Friday to today (Wednesday) as a specific time frame of six days, I did some extreme distance walking during four of those six days, so of course I got a blister! 45 km wasn't enough to do the job, but over a hundred kilometers in six days ought to do anyone in.
