It's slow going, and the subway is currently way more crowded than I would have thought for a Friday night, but I'm on my way to Yangpyeong Station, the starting point for tonight's 30K walk to Yeoju City. This walk is part pilgrimage, part purification, and while I'm skipping a few phases (18K walk to Bundang, 26K walk to Hanam), I think this will be a good test of my newly healed foot. The big toe looks a lot better, by the way.
I've got a lot of sugar in my system from recent misbehavior; I might be able to burn some of it off tonight. Here's hoping.
I'll be taking some pictures as I hike, but it's mostly a nighttime trek, so please don't expect much until morning. I have no idea what my average walking speed will be, but I hope I'm not too slow given that temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s tonight (low 20s for you Centigraders). Then again, I'm likely to stop and rest a lot on the trail. So we'll see how it goes. I'll be using the MapMyWalk app for as long as the phone has power; I'm down to 90% as I write this.
When I get back to Seoul Saturday morning, I'll be dead tired, so don't expect anything before Saturday afternoon, Seoul time.
Wish me luck.
