everything bad about the Hobbit trilogy

I think I agree with pretty much everything this guy says about Peter Jackson's Hobbit movies. When I wrote my own reviews of the movies (here and here), I tried to be charitable, but even back then, the little Gollum inside my brain was raging. I couldn't get past the idea of turning a short, little children's story into an epic trilogy. It felt so unnecessary. It still does.

By the way, the above reviewer is the same guy who reviewed the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

It's ironic that the overall message of The Hobbit was a warning about greed and the whole reason the Hobbit movies were made was because of greed.

Makes me think of the Avatar films using cutting-edge technology to deliver an anti-technological message. Especially when it comes to Hollywood, ironies abound.
