It's a bit after 3 p.m., and the boss isn't in. He must've stayed at the office until very late—I'd guess about 4 a.m. I texted the boss twice this morning and afternoon to check on what we might need to prepare for what I assume will be tonight's meeting (the CEO did a presentation this morning, and he's doing another presentation tomorrow evening, so anything he needs for tomorrow has to at least be talked about today), but there's been no answer. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that the boss is dead asleep. Fucking with a man's sleep schedule is a good way to ruin his immune system and throw off everything else, clinically speaking. I woke up today and blew bloody chunks out of my nose. It took three Kleenexes for my nose to blow clean; the fourth Kleenex was blood-free.
So I'm at the office, all alone, with no specific marching orders. I've got stuff I can do, but I'm curious to know how the boss is doing, and if he's even planning to come in today.
UPDATE: the boss came in a few minutes after I published the above. He says he stayed until close to 2:30 a.m., so he left about an hour after I did. Apparently, there's a meeting happening at 8 p.m. The boss thinks I might not have to go. We'll see.
UPDATE 2: miracle of miracles—no meeting. I'm going home.
