I forgot, in my previous Matrix rant, to include further evidence that the "real world" of Zion is actually just a meta-Matrix: Neo receives the gift of a spoon just before he re-boards the Nebuchadnezzar. We can assume this gift is from the spoon-bending British kid in the Buddhist robes from the last film. And the kid is saying, through this gift, that the insight that helped Neo to see the Matrix's true nature is the same insight that'll help him see the meta-Matrix's true nature.
That's my take, anyway.
