Via commenter John from Daejeon comes this video by The Officer Tatum—a black man who basically affirms that there is indeed a double standard, which is why Scott Adams is getting cancelled while black folks who routinely say similar things about white folks are at liberty to say whatever they want to say:
There's definitely a mote/beam dynamic going on here, and I agree that there's a double standard (just be careful about tu quoque fallacies). But as even Tatum acknowledges, (1) Scott Adams is probably coming from a place of deep hurt, as I'd said; and (2) Tatum himself probably would not have phrased the matter the way Adams did. Tatum does make a very interesting point about what black folks do when they become rich and famous: they move out of the 'hood and into white neighborhoods. People on the left don't want to talk about this.
Brandon Tatum is a former police officer and football player (his family has a bit of a football pedigree). He is yet another black-conservative voice, and he now enters the roll on my #WalkAway/BlackConservatives playlist on YouTube.
ADDENDUM: this PJ Media article says Scott Adams is now claiming he was engaging in "hyperbole." The article's author contends that, if Adams was going for humor, he failed miserably. This might be a good time for me to point out that I find Adams's humor, both on video and in his "Dilbert" comic strip, to be as desiccated and skeletal as Adams himself looks. I've rarely if ever found "Dilbert" funny. At best, the strip qualifies as "wry" humor and might produce the occasional lopsided grin. If Adams is now claiming he meant what he said as hyperbole, well... I hope it was worth it. As he himself noted previously, he has now lost the sources of most of his income. He'd better start writing some more books or something.
